Labour’s York Outer parliamentary candidate Luke Charters has today published new polling revealing the vast majority of York Outer voters feel worse off under the Conservatives.
The Labour Party commissioned Find Out Now, a member of the British Polling Council, to independently survey York Outer voters on whether they feel better or worse off after 13 years of Conservative Government.
The independent polling was conducted prior to the Conservative Party conference.
The vast majority (58%) of respondents said they were “worse off”, 25% were undecided, and less than 1 in 5 (17%) felt they were “better off”.
Luke Charters said:
“The overwhelming majority of families have said they’ve been made worse off by the Tories since they took office in 2010.
“This is the ultimate test of the Conservatives’ time in office – a test which they have resoundingly failed.
“I went to Huntington School, and I’m now raising my own family here in York. I know from friends, family, neighbours, and residents that there is a widespread feeling that York has been left behind.”
“A Labour government will bring hope and opportunity, working with businesses and the public sector to transform our economy, to bring sustainable growth to York and its villages.”
